NCP Staff Honored At State Conference 

Three NCP employees were honored at the CP of NYS Staff Recognition Award ceremony held during the annual State Conference in Saratoga. The event was held on October 25th and provides recognition for CP Affiliate staff who are nominated by their Affiliate for exemplary work. NCP's three Award Recipients for 2011 are : Angela Gantt (Vocational), Justin Harvey (Residential), and Sandra McMillan (Educational).

Each employee was featured in the Awards booklet that all of the nearly 1,000 people in attendance received at the dinner. A description of why they were chosen for the award was included. Here are excerpts from the Program Booklet:

"Angela has spent the last 20 years as a dedicated employee. She is the lead staff member for the NCP day Program Self Advocacy Group where she promotes our individuals to be active members of their community. She assists each person to reach their full potential..."

"Day in and day out, Justin finds a wide variety of ways to enhance the lives of the individuals he supports. Justin built a float that he has driven in several parades that advertises NCP and the work we do. Justin readily rises to the occasion if the needs of the agency require him to change sites."

"Sandy is an excellent collaborative teacher. She strives in every way to make learning enjoyable and meaningful. Sandy is enthusiastic because she works with a team of people who are all highly dedicated to the children and families we reach."

Congratulations to Angela, Justin and Sandra --- NCP is very proud of you!

Receiving their awards at the Conference (photos, top to bottom) were Justin Harvey, who was congratulated by Board President Dr. Richard Sawicki, Chief Operating Officer John Reardon, and Chief Executive Officer Joe Mineo. Sandra McMillan and Angela Gantt received their awards from Mineo and Reardon after the Conference, as they were unable to attend.
