Educational Services

Niagara Cerebral Palsy's educational division, known as Niagara Children Education and Treatment Center (Niagara Children ETC) is approved by the New York State Health Department and New York State Department of Education to provide educational and therapeutic services to children birth to five to children with and without disabilities.

Evaluations

Niagara Children's Education and Treatment Center provides Developmental Evaluations for children from birth to age 5 years old. Our trained and experienced evaluators understand that each child and family is unique and evaluations are designed to reflect the individual child's strength and needs. Niagara Children's ETC conducts evaluations in the center and/or a combination of center and home to allow for observation and consult with family members.

Children suspected to have speech and language delays, behavioral problems, a delay in learning or sensory-motor disorders may be eligible for evaluation. In addition, children who are at risk of delay due to diagnosed conditions such as autism, Down syndrome, hearing impairment or cerebral palsy also may be eligible for evaluation.

Evaluations are provided at no cost to families.

Early Intervention

Niagara Children's Education and Treatment Center offers a center based toddler class for young children with developmental delays. Therapeutic and educational services can also be provided in the child's home, daycare or community location.

Special Classes

Our preschool program for three- and four-year-olds helps children with developmental disabilities in a nurturing environment. The classroom team includes special education teachers, speech-language professionals, and other specialized providers. Language, social, physical, and academic skills are part of the daily lessons. An outdoor nature area, bike path and playground offers outdoor activities and our two gyms and sensory room offer activities year round.

Integrated Preschool Program

Our integrated preschool program serves children with and without developmental disabilities. Integration allows children with developmental disabilities to play and learn together with typically developing children. This program blends the best practices of early childhood education and special education.

Preschool Services are available in sites throughout Niagara County.
